The BEAM project and the University of Southeastern Philippines (USEP) recently renewed its partnership in implementing the Accelerated Teacher Education Program (ATEP). Both parties welcomed this development as it is geared towards increasing the pool of qualified and licensed Asatidz to teach Arabic Language and Islamic Values Education (ALIVE) subjects in the public schools.
There are over ninety ATEP grantees to undertake the Bachelor of Elementary Education specializing in Islamic Studies and Arabic Language. USEP will offer the professional education subjects through mixed-mode delivery while the general education subjects will be credited based on the accreditation and equivalency scheme. The specialization subjects are also treated the same way given that the grantees have already passed the qualifying exam (QE) for Arabic Language and Islamic Values, an essential requirement for them to be recommended for the program. |
